About this piece
The decorative plate is the widest, flattest piece in the collection: 33 cm across, a broad surface meant only to be seen, not to serve food. "Prato" comes from Vulgar Latin plattus, "flat," itself from Greek platys — the same root as "plateau."

About this pattern
In this pattern, sinuous bands in shades of emerald green, mint, and beige traverse the piece's expansive surface. Inspired by the continuous motion of waves, ceramist and painter Dani has hand-painted fluid lines, filled with raised dots of brown, green, and off-white. The effect is both visual and tactile, with a rhythm that invites the eye to wander across the creation.
