About this piece
The cylindrical vase is the most geometric piece in the collection: a straight body, no curves, the shape ceramicists call cylindrical because it repeats the cylinder exactly — from Greek kylindros, "that which rolls," via Latin cylindrus. It comes in two sizes (Medium, 13 cm tall by 20 cm wide; Large, 17 by 27 cm).

In this version of the cylindrical vase, ceramist and painter Dani explores a pattern of vertical stripes in shades of blue, black, and cream. The surface acts as a canvas for a rhythmic play of raised dots, meticulously applied by hand. Bands of tiny black and white dots create a fine texture, contrasting with stripes where larger blue circles float over a dark background or nestle into concentric rings. The continuous pattern, which wraps around the entire body of the vase, produces a visually hypnotic effect.
