About this piece

The iris vase is a tall, slender piece, 26 cm tall by 12 cm wide, in the multicolor and earthy lines. The name comes from Greek îris, the name of the rainbow goddess and, by extension, the colored part of the eye — a direct reference to the terracotta "eyes" motif in one pattern, and to the multiplicity of color that defines the other.

Pattern 2: black with terracotta eyes.

About this pattern

In this earthy variation of the Íris vase, the inspiration drawn from the gaze is literal. Against a matte black background speckled with fine white dots, concentric circles in shades of terracotta, off-white, and black form eyes that seem to watch anyone who approaches. This hand-painted pattern, created without a preliminary sketch, is denser across the body of the piece, becoming sparser near its mouth. The textured surface and visible brushstrokes lend a tactile quality to the creation, whose slender silhouette makes it a natural focal point in a reading nook or hallway. One of a kind, with Dani's mark on the base.
