About this piece

The colonial vase takes up the round-bellied, wide-mouthed silhouette of the clay jars that marked utilitarian pottery in colonial-era Brazil — hence the name, which describes the shape rather than a fixed period. The piece is presented in three sizes: Small, up to 15 cm; Medium, 15–25 cm; and Large, above 25 cm.

About this pattern

In this version of the Colonial Vaso, the work of ceramist and painter Dani pulses with a graphic and vibrant rhythm. Across the white surface, organic shapes of an intense red spread out, punctuated by a constellation of black dots. The same stippling—sometimes dense, sometimes sparse—fills the background and the black circles that float in the composition, an echo of the freehand gesture found in popular painting. The satin finish enhances the color contrast, completed by the delicate scalloped rim. A generous creation that asserts itself as a sculpture in a living room or on a porch, even when empty. One of a kind, with Dani's mark on the base.
