About this piece

The kaleidoscope vase is a low, wide piece, 16 cm tall by 20 cm across, with a broad mouth — more a deep bowl than a traditional vase. The name comes from Greek kalós (beautiful) + eîdos (form) + skopeîn (to see) — "to see beautiful forms," exactly what the piece's pattern offers.

Pattern 1: abstract orange, blue, magenta and black.

About this pattern

In this Kaleidoscope Vase variation, vibrant circles of orange, cerulean blue, and magenta overlap and float across the white ceramic surface. Black forms with a matte, textured finish punctuate the creation, which is further enlivened by a scattering of tiny black dots. Inspired by the idea of colorful fragments reorganizing themselves, the ceramist and painter Dani allows the spontaneous encounter of forms to build a unique visual rhythm. Its wide mouth makes this piece perfect as a cachepot for lush foliage or for holding a low, dense floral arrangement. One of a kind, with Dani's mark on the base.
